Curious incident of the dog in the night.

Well, so far in this story I still don't understand autistic people. It is alittle bit weird to me that he would actually toch this dead dog. He doesn't understand human emotions and is a very bland character. I understand that he is autistic but im still wondering WHY? If that was the neigbors dog why would you make yourself look like a criminal by being the first on the seen of a crime. I think im going to enjoy this book but it makes me wonder an kind of feel for autistic people. As I read on im sure I will understand them better.
